Vanilla Infused Simple Syrup from Scratch


1 cup granulated sugar (200g)

1 cup water

1 vanilla bean

Yield: 1 cup

Active Time: 20 min

Total Time: 20 min


  1. Slice vanilla bean down the center and scrape out the seeds

  2. Combine sugar, water and vanilla in a sauce pan

  3. Bring pan to med-high heat and stir until sugar has dissolved (~10 min).

  4. Remove from heat once liquid comes to boil

  5. Pour into sterile glass container

  6. Stores for about 1 week.
